Design and construction of this multi-phased project began in the fall of 2007 with the first completed buildings turned over for student occupancy in August, 2009. Nine buildings, including: Bingham, Broome, Delaware, Digman, Endicott, Johnson, O’Conner, Rafuse and the Chenango-Champlain Collegiate Center, and one parking garage; 1,000,000 square feet were completed in just five and a half years, at a cost of $392 million. The project completed in Fiscal Year 2013-2014 includes numerous energy efficiency measures including: high-efficiency lighting; insulation; high-efficiency HVAC systems; and daylight harvesting controls, which is a system that dims artificial light in response to available natural light.
