The Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY) is seeking proposals from Construction Manager’s-at-Risk to provide Professional Construction Management-at-Risk services for the renovation of a 198 bed low rise residents’ hall. Services to include: replacement of existing HVAC/ systems with the addition of air conditioning, replacement of the existing electrical systems and fixtures, replacement of plumbing fixtures (plumbing systems within the concrete slabs to remain), and updates to the current building envelope to meet current energy codes. Updates will include, the addition of exterior wall insulation, the replacement of existing window, and the replacement of the existing roof system with additional insulation. Updates to all interior finishes including the replacement of interior doors/hardware, updated floor, and wall finishes are also included.
Interested firms must possess substantial experience in: (1) providing Construction Manager-at-Risk services with projects of similar size, scope and complexity; (2) employing experienced staff with thorough knowledge of their area(s) of expertise; (3) delivering projects within a tight construction schedule; and (4) working knowledge of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) LEED rating system, specifically for projects which have received LEED certification.
It is the goal of DASNY to encourage participation by qualified certified Minority, Woman and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBE) and Services-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOB) as part of your team to the maximum extent practical and consistent with legal requirements. DASNY has established an aspirational goal of 30% participation of MWSBE firms and a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Contracting Goal of 6%.
