"DASNY's approach to environmental affairs is based on a philosophy of strategic management and planning. The underlying tenet is a belief that effective management requires a pragmatic balancing of understanding and respect for business interests with a strong commitment to the environment and New York State goals."
Robert Derico
Director, Office of Environmental Affairs - DASNY
Our goal: To save you valuable time and resources.
In New York State, most projects or activities proposed by a state agency or unit of local government, and all discretionary approvals (permits) from a NYS agency or unit of local government, require an environmental impact assessment as prescribed by law.
DASNY can save you time and resources! Get us involved early. DASNY can assist you with this process at the beginning of your project. A thorough State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) analysis identifies any potential environmental impacts during the planning process.
Our experienced Environmental Affairs staff will take you step-by-step through the review process. We work closely with you on your project, serving as a liaison between you and the various federal, state, and local agencies involved in the SEQR process. Our team also has extensive experience with such local environmental and land-use processes as the City of New York’s City Environmental Quality Review (CEQR) and Uniform Land Use Review Procedure (ULURP).
