Sealed bids for the above Work located at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, 524 West 59th Street, New York, New York 10019 will be received by DASNY at its office located at 515 Broadway, Albany, NY 12207. Each bid must be identified, on the outside of the envelope, with the name and address of the bidder and designated a bid for the Project titled above. When a sealed bid is placed inside another delivery jacket, the bid delivery jacket must be clearly marked on the outside “BID ENCLOSED” and “ATTENTION: CONSTRUCTION CONTRACTS – TRACEY MEYER.” DASNY will not be responsible for receipt of bids which do not comply with these instructions.
All individuals who plan to attend pre-bid meetings or bid openings in person will be required to present government-issued picture identification to building security officials and obtain a visitors pass prior to attending the bid opening.
Individuals and entities submitting bids in person or by private delivery services should allow sufficient time for processing through building security to assure that bids are received prior to the deadline for submitting bids.

This project involves replacement of existing standard height railings with new tall guardrails at the roof garden plaza (Jay Walk) between the new John Jay College Building and Haaren Hall, as well as the garden overlook at the tennis court level of Haaren Hall’s West facade. All existing railings and their associated anchors are to be removed, with existing mounted wi-fi boxes at the Jay Walk to be saved and re-mounted onto the new guardrails. All new elements of the guardrails and framing exposed to the weather are intended to be stainless steel. New railings at the Jay Walk will be anchored to the existing concrete curb, with new anchoring points. The tennis court level rail will be replaced in its existing location, with anchoring points at the existing flagpoles, CMU parapet, and adjacent brick walls. Additionally, new solar-powered emergency phone towers/wall-mounted units will be installed across the Jay Walk. A new hard-wired emergency phone will also be installed at the Haaren Hall tennis court level. All emergency phones will run on cellular service. The Contractor is responsible for scheduling and coordinating all trades to ensure the scheduled completion date is met. The Contractor is responsible for providing all the Work described in the Contract Documents.
